MAD MEN Hump day (Night) cocktail

So in a break from my G&T and Absinthe evening drinks ( not together obviously) I decided to mix up some "Old Fashioneds" tonight - Don Draper knows whats up.
In case you want to try one, take an Old Fashioned glass, and if you want to make it traditionally, do not muddle the bitters, otherwise I think it tastes better "muddled". Mix in sugar cubes (you should have them around for your Absinthe anyway!), an orange wheel, a maraschino cherry and soda to taste. If you muddle it, remove the orange rind, then add the bourbon and plenty of ice. To keep the proper presentation, you should finish it off with a fresh orange wheel and non-mashed Maraschino cherry. As a variation, (and it makes it sweeter), you can change out the bourbon for Southern Comfort but if you do, you might want to back off the sugar cubes (to taste). For more orange flavor, you can try a splash of triple sec. Lots of ways to change it up as long as the end result is phenomenal. I have been experimenting with these tonight so I apologize for any "variation" in this post! ha!

Original recipe

1 tsp Sugar (or 2 sugar cubes)
    1 Orange wheel
    1 Maraschino cherry
    1 splash Club soda
