Anyone who knows me, knows that in this picture I am hammered (haha), but moreover, you know that music is number one with me; in fact I am listing to music right now. I love this band: Scorpion Child. Recently they were by the shop and I caught their show and drank a beer or two with some of the coolest cats I know.
They are on tour right now and imagine if you put Zeppelin, Sabbath, Rush, Rage against the Machine, The James Gang, old Iron Maiden and 80s thrash metal together in a blender and kept only the things you like about all those bands. Add a new sound that you haven't heard before but hooks you to a song and THESE GUYS are that result! I have this CD right next to my Nazareth album which was so crucial in my formative years (haha)~ but I also play that one front to back.
These guys are TRUE, absolute musicians and play the shit out of their axes and drums which is a component that has been missing for so long. The vocals are pure and exactly what your heart has been fucking screaming for since bands started sounding alike. They are not playing from any book, they are writing a new book and trust me it is where music should have went years ago. I honestly LOVE this CD and I have not stopped rocking it on my ipod and in the car since I got it - front to back! All the songs are good, no god damn filler, and it just rocks.
These guys ride bikes and are into all the cool shit you would hope that a band from Texas would be.
Pick this damn CD up if you don't have it, or let me know and I will get you one..if you know me, you know I don't put bullshit out there- these guys are the greatest thing to happen to music in a long time.
